七十八、科学笔记（下） @ 好野人的家

我问好野哥：“听到‘母鸡孵小鸡’，你会想到什么？”

～母鸡要坐在蛋上21天、公鸡要坐在母鸡的上面结婚。

我：“看着这窝蛋，你有什么问题要问吗？”

我原本以为好野哥会回答‘我的母鸡为什么还不孵蛋？’没想到好野哥却回答：“我的公鸡和母鸡是丽芳阿姨的鸡生的，它们是兄妹，生出来的小鸡会不会很笨？”嗯……果然，天下‘父母’心啊！

母鸡孵小鸡  =>

公鸡和母鸡要交配－> 受精卵－> 母鸡要坐在受精卵上 -> 21天 

我的问题：

1.  我的公鸡和母鸡是兄妹，生出来的小鸡会不会很笨？

2. 我的母鸡没有坐在蛋上，怎么办？

因为家里的母鸡只顾下蛋却不孵，每天没事鸡似地照常过日子，我们只好没事找事地写些与‘母鸡孵小鸡’有关的周边琐事：

一、看图表，找答案。

问题：小鸡的预产期是什么时候？

二、观察对象仔细瞧

爸爸买了一包（大约30只）喂鸟的蟋蟀回来，当我喂鸡吃蟋蟀时，我发现公鸡只吃了5只，其它的都被母鸡吃掉了，也许公鸡觉得母鸡比它更需要营养吧！

不信‘万物有时’的好野爸因为母鸡迟迟不孵蛋而请教谷歌大神后发现：“我们的日本鸡是经过改良的品种，母鸡只会下蛋却不会孵的几率有20％，我们的母鸡很可能就是那只会下蛋却不会孵的20％，我们得想个办法帮帮它，提醒它得坐在蛋上21天，小鸡才会出来。”

Solution 1: 

My father removed one of the stick that the hen like to stand on, the hen has no choice, she has to sit on her eggs, but she only sit for one day. This does not work.

Solution 2:

I ask Aunty Layhong if I can put my hen’s eggs at her chicken nest so that her hen can help to sit.

But she say NO, because her hen already sit on their eggs for more than five days, if I put my eggs to them, her hen will still sit on my eggs but it would not hatch because her hen’s chick will come out first and she need to take care of them. The hen will not sit on the remaining eggs. This does not work.

好野爸那用膝盖想也知道行不通的‘妙主意’为我制造了成语学习的机会，可惜人算不如天算，就在4月23日早上，吃完早餐的我正打算把门外的好野哥叫进屋讲‘揠苗助长’的故事时，只听门外有人大嚷：“母鸡孵蛋了！真的！它已经坐在蛋上面很久了！”

Now my hen sat on her seven eggs. On the morning, she come out from the nest, I thought she doesn’t want to lay her eggs anymore, but she went back to sat on them. I am so excited.

我观察到母鸡除了孵蛋，每天早上都会在沙地上吃东西（啄食）、大便和洗沙浴。

母鸡坐在蛋上孵小鸡的第二天，就用喙把其中一颗蛋推出窝外，然后跟公鸡一起享用‘美味的点心’。

My hen lay eight eggs, one of them is spoilt, so the hen and the cock crack the spoilt egg and drank up the egg york and eat the shell.

丽芳听了好野哥的报告后说：“以后如果母鸡再把蛋推出来，你要赶快把那颗蛋拿走，不要让它们吃，不然万一公鸡和母鸡养成了爱吃蛋的习惯，以后不管是好蛋还是坏蛋，它们都会推出来把蛋吃掉。”

问题：被当成点心吃掉的是第几颗蛋，为什么？

Guessing game question:

Which egg is rotten out of the nine eggs?

Answer:

The first egg. Because it keep to long (14 days).

再三天，我的小鸡就会孵出来。从蛋的形状看来，我觉得会是一只公鸡和七只母鸡。

Yesterday, Aunty Layhong came to our house. She told us that her hen hatch 21 eggs but just eight of the chicks are alive, most of the chicks dies because of the coop is too wet and some of the chicks are bitten by the cock.

If I want my entire chick alive, I must remember to keep their coop dry and keep them in a box before they grow bigger and stronger.

五月十三日，俗称‘黑色星期五’，就在这天，我们家的母鸡孵出了6只小黑鸡。

我的母鸡终于孵出小鸡了。虽然母鸡总共生了九颗蛋，可是只有六只小鸡活下来。

以一个月时间，断断续续完成的‘科学笔记’终于可以落幕了。

曾经孵出小鸡和不曾孵出小鸡的蛋壳有什么不同？为什么？
